‘That was the ‘plan’ – stay for a few nights and go to another place … but 17 nights later we are still here.  The plan?  Who knows?  …  Because when you find a place such as this it is very difficult to leave.’  Natacha & Guillaume, October 2013

‘A magic place, a great energy, amazing hospitality – what a great discovery!  We have gotten so inspired by you and your place, that it reinforces in us that anything is possible.  Thanks for sharing your home!’  Christina & Mariama, Bucharest October 2013

‘We are not sure exactly how you work the magic spell you cast over this place but I do know that the same magic has worked its spell on us and we feel that we have been in an enchanted spot!’ Barry & Grace, London 2013

‘Thanks for opening your house and hearts to us poor travellers seeking respite.  My five nights here were tranquil and rejuvenating; the four days mellow and fulfilling.  Thanks Chris for the sumptuous breakfasts and for the tour of Sveshtari and Demir Baba Tekke … truly a sacred area of the world and an absolute treasure.  Thanks Claire for the healing energy of reiki and that wonderful Irish accent.  I’ll always have a place in my heart for Palamartsa.’ Mark, New Zealand, August 2013

‘I have had a rich and magical couple of days with you, dear Claire and Chris – the only downside is having to leave too soon.  Will be back for more, I think!  You have created something truly wonderful and meaningful here.  Thank you for making us part of it.’ Kapka, Scotland, June 2013

‘A closeness to nature, a rich history and the finest of hosts; what more could you ask for?  We have spent three very full days here and I have done many things for the first time – yoghurt making, cheese making and Thracian tombs.  I even love the composting toilet now!  And there is so much more too.  Something lost has been found.  Thank you Chris and Claire.’ Tony, Beauly, Scotland, June 2013

‘Thank you very much for the great time at your farm, for your hospitality and kindness.  I have really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere here and all the nice things such as the trips, making the rakia, being a shepherd for the goats and all the things around the garden.  I liked it here so much that I might get a farm of my own one day.’  Kasia, Poland, June 2013

‘Weeding and feeding, love and laughter, fun times at Wild Thyme, even went back in time to the Roman days, exploring life from a different angle, Cliffs, cards and company!  Thanks for everything!’  Ayesha, England, May 2013

‘We had a wonderful time and even more than that: Claire & Chris, their animals, the whole atmosphere made our trip something special…we got to know the Bulgarian rural life…Because of your hospitality and the insight into your daily life we will …take many ideas and new inspiration with us.  Thanks a lot.’  Nina & Benjamin, Germany Sep 2012

‘Arrived back at Wild Thyme Farm from a few days in Abanassi.  It’s an oasis as well as an idyll and it was a pleasure to be back – particularly to Chris’ breakfasts.  We shall miss this delightful place as well as Chris & Claire.  Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and for an excellent film.  We’ll be back.’  Chris & Julia, England Sep 2012

‘A huge thanks to Chris and Claire who offered us a better way to think and live.  I hope to continue the eco holidays in Paris.  Long live tomatoes and home-made rakia!’  Clemence, Paris Aug 2012

‘You’ll have trouble finding better hosts than Chris and Claire and their menagerie. We had such a fantastic time with them, learning, chatting, cooking and sightseeing. … The best thing about this place is how devoted Chris and Claire are to self-sufficiency and doing things the traditional Bulgarian way (building with mud, preserving, gardening, etc.) They’ve learned and implemented a lot and will share all their knowledge with you while asking for your opinions and ideas. This is a place of true exchange. Thanks so much for everything, we’ll be back!’         Jenna and Hillary, Canada Aug 2011

Wild Thyme Organic Farm, Palamartsa, Popovo, Bulgaria

‘How do you review your family?  Chris and Claire welcomed us into their home … Besides being amazingly warm and caring people, the animals, vegetables and homestead that they keep are extremely impressive… We can’t thank you enough for the experience.’  Bree and Gav, Australia July 2011

‘Super chilled out farm in hilly farming community complete with horse carts, nearby mini mart (not that you will need extra food), many English neighbors, and five toothed cow herders…The nearby town of Popovo has a train station so it is easy to get to. Chris and Claire are totally rad, we watched Bulgarian movies, went to their friends for brunch, and listened to 60’s garage rock records. So if you fancy a spell in rural Bulgaria, you can’t go wrong.’  Chris Fenton, USA May 2011

‘I stayed with Chris & Claire for two weeks in May 2011. They are wonderful people with a great farm…The food is fresh and fantastic and the small village they live in is beautiful. During the day you can walk into the village, atop a hill with a great view and sometimes make a trip into the town of Popovo. It’s been really fun.  I highly recommend Chris & Claire …. You are sure to have a wonderful experience if you’re looking for a laid back holiday.’ Ben Millar, USA May 2011

‘Endearing and delightful…you really have something special here.’  James, Canada October 2010
