  • Take our goats, Dennie and Monnie, to pasture in the morning or pick them up from the shepherd in the evening
  • Help feed the pig
  • Milk the goats
  • Collect eggs

Butchering

Learn to butcher meat

We believe that since one of us chooses to eat meat, then the best way to do that is to produce our own meat.  We provide a good and healthy life to our animals and they are killed quickly and with the least possible pain in their own yard.  They are then butchered with the respect and gratitude they deserve. If you agree with this ethos and would like to join us in this process which is only available a couple of times each year, please contact us in advance.

Workshops are generally 3-4 hours long and cost 35 lev per person.

Learn to make your own sausages and bacon with our own meat.  Workshop ends with a tasty sausage sandwich.

Learn how to turn our fresh goats’ milk into tasty natural yoghurt and a delicious herby cheese.

Preserving workshop

Learn to preserve fruit in syrups the traditional way, boiled in a large pot over an open fire in the garden.  And how to cook up a delicious chutney or ‘looteneetsa’, the wonderful local tomato paste.

Alcohol

Making cider

Hands on activities for making your own alcohol including wine, cider, perry or rakia.  Whatever fruit you have, we can show you how to turn into into a scrumptious drink.

  • Wine – turn white and red grapes or even cherries into flavourful local wines
  • Cider – learn to make a thirst quenching perry or cider
  • Rakia – use a still to convert fermented fruit into potent tasty spirits
