Martin Stephenson is a talented teacher who as a self-taught artist has a natural flair for passing skills on to his students.

He specialises in watercolour painting.  His love of watercolour is based on its delicate washes and immediacy as a medium.  His style has been described as ‘atmospheric, serene and fresh’.

Born in Yorkshire and now settled in Bulgaria, Martin recognises the importance of capturing Bulgaria’s rapidly changing rural life and fading city facades.  He spends his winters in Asia where he creates beautiful watercolours of landscape and village scenes.

To share his joy of watercolour painting, Martin has written an e-book ‘Watercolour for beginners’.
